             Up Education Contents District Sales             Grand River Clean-up 

 

 

The Grand River Clean-up held April 29th.  Nineteen volunteers participated in the event.  Over 16 miles of the river starting at the Harpersfield Dam downstream were cleaned.  Tires, bottles, cans, plastics, paper, propane tanks, a metal bench, articles of clothing and boots were removed from the river and it's bank by the group of enthusiastic volunteers.  Click on the pictures below to view highlights of the event.

The Grand River Clean-up Event will be held again in the Spring of 2007.  Look here for information in  2007.

Wild & Scenic Grand River Cleanup
Make a difference in your River as we clean up the Grand by canoe and hiking its banks on Saturday June 14, 2007 (rain or shine) 8:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. You can Hike, Canoe or do both to help keep the Wild & Scenic Grand River in Ashtabula and Lake Counties clean & pristine! Hike the banks and flood plains at various locations including the Lake and Ashtabula County Metroparks along the River. Canoe in a sponsor canoe or bring your own.

  · Participants using sponsor canoes must be 14 years of age or older.

  · Private canoes are welcome, but please call to register your canoe.

  · A parent or guardian must accompany participants under 18.

Canoe seats are limited! All volunteers’ welcome! Clubs & groups can work together!

Remember to please dress appropriately: Long pants w/ boots or tennis shoes are recommended for canoeist, no sandals please. Long sleeves suggested.

All participants must check in at the registration table at Hidden Valley LMP on Saturday, June 14th at 8:00 a.m.
